Strategic Tech Hiring for a Transformation-Led CIO
The Challenge
A new CIO arrived at Goldsmiths, and she had big plans. She needed to reshape how IT worked across the board, but was working with tight budgets and a blank slate. The first step was understanding what the current market looked like and what kind of talent she could actually bring in.
The Fix
We got involved early and helped shape the whole thing from the ground up. Benchmarking salaries, mapping out what her money could realistically buy, and helping her build a business case for a new operating model. Then came the hires:
An enterprise architect to lead a scoping piece for a new CRM.
– A business analyst and CRM developer to support that project.
– An associate director of technology to act as her right-hand person.
– A head of cloud and infrastructure.
– An identity and access management manager to tighten up internal controls.
The Result
Not only did we help fill multiple strategic roles, we also helped set the blueprint for a bigger wave of transformation. The groundwork is now in place for another 20 to 30 permanent hires, all aligned to the CIO’s operating model.
